Xigera Camp can be found on one of the Okavango Delta's most beautiful islands, within the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is in a riverine forest, which is home to the shy sitatunga antelope and the rare Pel's Fishing Owl. As the island is surrounded by deep Okavango channels, Xigera enjoys a secluded paradise. At Xigera guests are accommodated in ten luxuriously furnished tented rooms, all en-suite with outdoor showers. The tents are on raised on wooden platforms, allowing for excellent views across the seasonal floodplain and lagoon.
Permanent year-round water gives you a full variety of activities - mokoro trips, game drives and motorboat outings. When water levels permit, game drives are an attraction. During drier years, drives are available throughout the year, but if there has been a very high flood, drives take place only from late September to April. As it is considered to be a permanent water camp, you may be surprised by the presence of lion, leopard, hyaena and buffalo on the islands. These animals will happily wade and swim between islands in search of food.
