Savute Elephant Lodge is on the Savute Channel, and adjacent to the Chobe National Park. The area has always been known for its abundant herds of elephant, and a number of predator species, in particular lion and leopard.
Accommodation at the Camp is in 12 twin-bedded luxury, custom made tents, recently placed under thatch. They are also on raised wooden platforms, allowing for extensive views. Each tent also boasts large, en suite bathroom facilities, which includes indoor and outdoor showers. The tents are air-conditioned, and feature overhead fans, mini-bar, and safe. Guests also enjoy the use of a private veranda, complete chairs and hammock.
Activities revolved around the early morning and afternoon game drives. The Savute area is surprisingly diverse, and home to a number of plains game – including thousands of zebra, during the seasonal migration from Linyanti (generally early in the year).
Birding has always been excellent, but with the recent flooding in the channel, new species have been spotted.
The open skies of Savute make it a perfect place to experience the vast, dark dome of the African night sky. Discover how Bushmen used the stars to locate the true south.
