Sausage Tree Camp overlooks an expanse of narrow channels and low set reed islands teeming with game, with the Zambezi escarpment as the backdrop.
The Camp sleeps only 16 guests, in unique Bedouin-style white canvas tents furnished in luxurious fabrics and Zambian Teak, including sumptuous four-poster beds, with flowing mosquito nets. The open air bathrooms with expansive decks enjoy River views. The 2 honeymoon suites offer the most luxurious of accommodation, and each boast indoor and outdoor bathrooms, dining area, bar and a king size bed overlooking the private pool set into the expansive teak deck. Then there is Kigelia House, which is the perfect choice for small groups or families, with two en-suite bedrooms separated by an open plan living area leading onto the private deck and pool.
Sausage Tree’s central dining and bar area is fronted by an enormous deck overlooking the Zambezi River with its low set reed islands, which are known for their game viewing. You can also relax at the large swimming pool, which is idyllically situated under shading.
Dining is exceptional, with breakfast available at any time, there is also a buffet lunch, which consists of a selection of hot dishes, including vegetarian. Lunch is served in the dining tent, deep in the bush or a sandbank in the Zambezi. And to fortify you before your afternoon activity, freshly made lemonade or iced tea is served with a selection of sweet and savoury delicacies. Dinners are three courses of fine dining, and are served at a hosted table, or in the privacy of your own tent served by your personal butler, or under the stars, cooked by campfire on an island or deep in the bush
Sausage Tree Camp offers a wide range of activities, which include day and night game drives, walks, canoe trips, boat cruises and fishing. With personalized guiding, you decide exactly what activity they would like to participate in and when. Elephant, hippo and buffalo are seen in camp daily. You also have an extremely high chance of seeing lion, leopard, wild dogs, hyena, waterbuck, zebra, impala, bushbuck and kudu during your stay.
