Medjumbe is one of the smaller (a mere 800 metres by 350 metres) private Islands in the Quirimbas Archipelago. With its pristine beaches and fantastic dive sites, Medjumbe Private Island is ideal for diving enthusiasts and honeymooners alike.
Accommodation is in 13 thatched chalets (5 Twin and 8 Double rooms), all with en suite bathrooms fitted with indoor shower and separate bath as well as a private outdoor shower and plunge pool. In addition, the chalets are well appointed, and are equipped with air conditioning, outdoor sun deck and lounge area with hammock, ceiling fans, mini bar, personal electronic safe, satellite TV and the convenience of tea/coffee-making facilities.
The Lodge’s restaurant has an inside and outside deck and veranda, allowing for beautiful views.
In addition there is a spacious lounge area, and bar. You can relax in the thatched loft area which overlooks the Indian Ocean, with magnificent views of the bay.
There is also a good sized central swimming pool – complete with extensive deck area, and loungers.
Water sports offered at Medjumbe include diving, snorkelling, fishing, water-skiing, Hobie cats and sea kayaks. The area is renowned for its diving, you can even snorkel off the lodge’s beach.
Enjoy a Sunset cruise in a traditional Dhow, surely the best way to enjoy the seas around the island. You can also just relax on your private deck, and enjoy the sheer peace and tranquillity of this unique Island.
Unfortunately Medjumbe does not accept children under 12 years, unless the Lodge is booked out on an exclusive use basis.
